MISSOURI CITY, Texas (Sept. 9, 2011) — State Representative Ron Reynolds (D-Fort Bend County, District 27) has partnered with Missouri City and asks residents of Fort Bend county to come together and join in an effort to aid in the recovery of victims of the fires that have devastated counties around Austin and Houston.
Citizens and businesses are encouraged to bring toiletries, feminine products, soap, sanitizer, toothpaste, toothbrush, toilet paper, bottled water, inflatable beds, diapers, and new or gently-used clothing, jackets and blankets to donate. Items should be delivered to the Fire & Rescue Service Station 1 building, located at Public Safety Headquarters, 3849 Cartwright Rd., Missouri City, TX 77459. Donations should be neatly packed in boxes or carrying bags so they can be easily distributed. Donations will be accepted until Friday, Oct. 7. For more information, please call 281.403.4326.
“We are reaching out to cities throughout Fort Bend county to encourage residents to display that phenomenal giving spirit as we look to provide assistance to our neighbors in their time of need,” stated Rep. Reynolds. “I applaud Mayor Owen and the city of Missouri City for opening up their facility in order to allow us to collect much needed supplies and materials,” added Rep. Reynolds.
